We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Manager to lead the end-to-end design and coordination of electrical systems for industrial and large-scale infrastructure projects.
The role requires deep expertise in electrical design engineering, system planning, load analysis, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure all electrical designs are safe, compliant, optimized, and aligned with site execution requirements. This is a senior technical leadership role, bridging design, execution, procurement, and client/consultant coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design Leadership
• Lead complete electrical design from concept to IFC stage
• Review and approve electrical system designs and layouts
• Validate load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection
• Ensure system optimization for reliability, safety, and energy efficiency
2. HT/LT Power Distribution Systems
• Design and review HT/LT distribution networks
• Transformer and substation layouts
• DG systems, AMF panels, and synchronization systems
• UPS and critical power systems
3. Electrical Infrastructure Design
• Cable sizing and routing
• Cable tray/trench layouts
• Panel boards, MCCs, PCCs, DBs
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
4. Lighting & Small Power Systems
• Indoor and outdoor lighting design
• Lux level calculations
• Emergency lighting systems
• Power layouts for industrial equipment and utilities
5. Coordination & BIM Integration
• Coordinate electrical systems with HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and structural services
• Review BIM models and clash reports
• Ensure coordinated shop drawings are released as per schedule
6. Design to Execution Alignment
• Ensure designs are installation-friendly and site-feasible
• Support site teams with design clarifications
• Resolve technical issues and deviations at site
• Assist procurement with technical specifications and vendor evaluations
7. Client & Consultant Interface
• Participate in design review meetings
• Provide technical justifications and clarifications
• Ensure approvals of electrical drawings and submittals
8. Compliance & Standards
Ensure all designs comply with:
• NBC & IS Codes
• IEC Standards
• Electrical safety regulations
• Project-specific specifications
9. Documentation & Deliverables
Responsible for review and approval of:
• Electrical design drawings
• Shop drawings
• SLDs and schematic diagrams
• Cable schedules
• Calculation sheets
• As-built drawings
10. Team Leadership
• Lead electrical design engineers and draftsmen
• Allocate tasks and track deliverables
• Conduct technical reviews and mentoring
Project Type Exposure Required
• Industrial plants

Qualification
• B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Experience Required
• 10–15+ years in electrical design
• Minimum 3–5 years in design leadership role
• Experience with EPC or MEP contracting companies preferred
• Must have handled multi-disciplinary coordination
Software Skills
• AutoCAD – Mandatory
• Revit MEP – Preferred
• ETAP / Electrical calculation software – Added advantage
• Navisworks – Coordination
• MS Office
